Lumenetix Dynamic Dimming Module Selected for IES 2013 Progress Report

October 2, 2013

San Francisco, CA November 4, 2013 - The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) recognized the Lumenetix Dynamic Dimming Module™ as part of the IES 2013 Progress Report.

The Dynamic Dimming Module (DDM) warms as it dimes to replicate the dimming profile of halogen lamps. The DDM delivers 3000K CCT at full brightness and warms to 1800K at the lowest dimming range while maintaining very high CRI. The Dynamic Dimming Module is available in a 24V 82 mm footprints with Light Emitting Apertures of 12, 19 and 32 mm and a 12V 50 mm footprint with 9, 12 and 19 mm apertures. The lumen output increases with increasing aperture size. The Dynamic Dimming Modules are controlled using industry standard 0-10V controllers. For more information, please contact jsaake@lumenetix.com.

New Linear LED Color Tuning Light Engines from Lumenetix

April 18, 2013

(San Francisco, CA - March 25, 2013) Lumenetix® announced today the introduction of a new araya5 Linear Tuning Module (LTM).

“The Linear Tuning Module is a true breakthrough in lighting technology. Our proprietary light piping technology efficiently mixes five LED color strings,” said Jim Kingman, President and CEO, ”to deliver tunable and dimmable light of uniform flux and uniform color along the linear surface.”

The LTM is designed with a 7/16” light emitting surface in 1 and 2 foot modules for end-to-end installation that forms continuous and seamless lengths of color tunable light. Simple power and control interconnects electronically link the modules to enable them to act as one continuous linear lamp. The LTM has self contained heat sinking and recessed mounting provisions in the light engine housing enable the attachment of various secondary optics.

“All araya5 products are designed with uniform features – tunable high quality light, dimming to one percent, Saturation and Hue, scene presets – and uniform wireless, wired or hybrid controls” said Jeffrey Saake, Executive Vice President. “This new form factor complements our flagship line and extends araya5 to wall washers, wall grazers and cove lights as well as direct and indirect lighting”.

Lumenetix Introduces New Saturation and Hue Mode

November 16, 2012

(San Francisco, CA November 16, 2012) Lumenetix® announced today the introduction of a new Saturation and Hue feature for its award winning araya5 line of products.

“The Saturation and Hue feature complements the high quality araya5 light and offers the lighting designer the flexibility to add varying levels of saturation and hue to a chosen color point”, said Jim Kingman, President and CEO, “It also responds to the demands of some lighting designers to provide warm light that is off the Planckian curve.”

To implement Saturation and Hue, Lumenetix developed a new color software model. Using the Lumenetix® Light Commissioning Tool, the user first chooses a color temperature on the Planckian curve. The Saturation function then allows the user to move from this pure white point toward any fully saturated color in increments of 1%.  The Hue function  allows the end user to choose exactly color by moving from red to blue to green and back to red in increments of 1%. The Saturation and Hue feature will be available in all araya5 Color Tuning Modules and is compatible with the Lumenetix  Light Commissioning Tool.

“The addition of Saturation and Hue gives the lighting designer incredible flexibility”, said Jeffrey Saake, Executive Vice President. “In addition to our tunable natural white light, lighting designers can utilize Saturation and Hue to customize the illumination of different textures of walls, flooring, retail merchandise and interior and exterior landscapes with off-the-Planckian curve light.”

Lumenetix Captures Lightfair 2012 Innovation Award

May 21, 2012

(San Francisco, CA May 21, 2012) Lumenetix, Inc’s araya5, a LED light engine with Color Tuning Module and Light Commissioning Tool has been awarded the Innovation Award for LED Light Engines at LightFair® International (LFI) 2012, the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference.

“We are very grateful for this award. I think the Master of Ceremonies captured the essence of our work when he described color tuning as a clear indication of the direction of the LED lighting industry,” said Jim Kingman, President and CEO.

Judged by an independent panel of renowned lighting professionals, the LFI Innovation Award was given to the LED light engine manufacturer Lumenetix for the LED/OLED Chips, modules / light engines, plasma and OEM subassembly category. Finalists included, among others, three entries from Cree Inc., Nichia, Philips, and Ushio America Inc.

The araya5 LED light engine replicates natural white light, from the warm light of sunrise and sunset to the cool light of the afternoon sun. The color tuning LED modules (CTM) feature 12, 19 and 32 mm sources powered by 10 or 14 LEDs. The araya5 Light Commissioning Tool (LCT) wirelessly dims and tunes the CTM from 2700-6000K along the Planckian curve at very high CRI. Illustrative of the high quality, natural white light produced by araya5, the CTM 019 features delta UV of ±0.001 and Ra values of 91-95 and R9 values of 92 - 98 throughout the tunable range*.

“We are incredibly excited about this award and overwhelmed by the reception”, says Jeffrey Saake, EVP, “We believe color tuning will become as ubiquitous as dimming is today. Stay tuned as we announce new LED light products that target additional markets and applications.”
